Her Majesty, The Queen Of England In Pakistan

Longest living monarch, Queen Elizabeth || turned 94 yesterday

Her each public appearance is noted worldwide and her every move is recorded.
Her coronation was the first to be televised, bringing the momentous occasion into the living rooms of the British public. Her annual Christmas address became televised too, changing the relationship between the British Royal Family and the nation.

So on the Queen’s birthday, Lets take a look at her two official visits to Pakistan till date.

In 1961, Queen Elizabeth, 34 at the time, undertook a royal tour of the far eastern countries, which included visits to Pakistan, India, Iran and Nepal.

Her state visit to Pakistan, which since 1956 had become a republic, lasted from February 1-16, during which she was accompanied by her husband, Duke of Edinburgh Prince Philip, and visited Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, Lahore and the northern areas of the country.

Queen Elizabeth, wearing a gorgeous ball gown, and Prince Philip arrived at a gala in Lahore.

Wearing a glittering tiara, Queen Elizabeth arrived to a luncheon given by the Governor of Peshawar.

Her majesty in Swat, Pakistan in 1961.

In 1997 Queen’s second visit to Pakistan coincided with Pakistan’s golden jubilee.

36 years after her first visit to Pakistan, In 97 when Sardar Farooq Ahmad Khan Leghari was president and Nawaz Sharif was the prime minister, and the country was celebrating 50 years of independence, Queen accompanied by her husband, Prince Philip landed in Islamabad on October 7th.

Wearing a bright yellow polka-dotted dress as she stood with Pakistani leaders at the Shah Faisal Mosque in Islamabad.

Queen Elizabeth spoke at a banquet hosted by the President of Pakistan Farooq Leghari. In her speech, she reflected on the tragic death of Princess Diana.

Local school girls threw flower petals as Queen Elizabeth visited their school.
