Ramadan is a month of spiritual reflection, fasting, and devotion. Among its most sacred moments are the last ten nights, particularly Laylat al-Qadr (the Night of Decree), when the Qur’an was revealed. Worship during this night is better than a thousand months, making it crucial to engage in ibadat (acts of worship) with sincerity and dedication.
Perform Taraweeh and Tahajjud prayers. Tahajjud, offered in the late hours of the night, is especially powerful for seeking Allah’s mercy and closeness.
Engage in reciting the Qur’an, understanding its meanings, and making Duas from it. Surah Al-Qadr (97) and Surah Al-Dukhan (44:3-4) highlight the significance of these nights.
Since the exact night is unknown, dedicate the odd nights (21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th, 29th) to extra ibadat. The Prophet (PBUH) advised reciting this dua frequently:
اللهم إنك عفو تحب العفو فاعف عني
Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibbul ‘afwa fa’fu ‘anni
(O Allah, You are Most Forgiving, and You love forgiveness, so forgive me.)
These nights are the best time to make heartfelt supplications. Some recommended Duas include:
• For forgiveness:
ربنا ظلمنا أنفسنا وإن لم تغفر لنا وترحمنا لنكونن من الخاسرين
Rabbana zalamna anfusana wa in lam taghfir lana wa tarhamna lanakoonanna minal khasireen.
(Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy on us, we will be among the losers.) [Surah Al-A’raf 7:23]
• For guidance and righteousness:
اللهم اهدني وسددني
Allahumma ihdini wa saddidni
(O Allah, guide me and make me steadfast.)
Giving to those in need multiplies your rewards. Even small acts of kindness, like feeding the poor or donating, carry immense blessings.
By dedicating these nights to prayers, Quran recitation, duas, and charity, one can attain Allah’s mercy and rewards beyond measure. Let’s make the most of this blessed time!
