Alia Bhatt and Hailey Bieber on dealing with Anxiety

Anxiety can hit anyone and celebrities are no exception

Recently, Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt and supermodel Hailey Bieber opened up about suffering with intense anxiety and how they deal with it!

We all know, everything is going in Alia’s favor. Whether it’s her films, popularity or love life. Alia’s life seems perfect to us! But as they say, everyone is fighting a battle that we don’t know of!

In an interview with Filmfare recently, Alia spoke about her personal life and shared that she have been undergoing bouts of anxiety.

Here’s what she said:

“I haven’t been depressed but I’ve had bouts of anxiety. It comes and goes, It’s been happening quite a bit since the past five to six months. It’s not like an anxiety attack but I just feel low. Thankfully, I’m aware of it because of my sister (Shaheen Bhatt). She’s fought depression. I’ve read her book,” the actor revealed. No matter how bad it is, I just let myself feel it. Sometimes, I feel like crying for no reason. Then it passes. Initially, I’d be a little confused. I’d constantly give reasons that it’s because of work or maybe I’m tired or haven’t been able to meet anyone… The kind of personality I have, I become a little on the edge. I spoke to friends about it. I spoke to Ayan [Mukerji] about it, I spoke to my sister’s friend Rohan [Joshi]. Everyone told me that you’ve got to realise that it will go away. What’s important is to accept it and not say that you’re fine. If you’re not feeling fine, then you should just say you’re not feeling fine.”

On the other hand, model Hailey Bieber also opened up about her struggle with anxiety in an interview with Glamour, sharing that it once got to the point where she “couldn’t sleep.

“Everybody has things that are going bad in their life—no matter who you are or what is going on,” she tells Glamour. “There are always going to be things that bother you, or that you struggle with, that are never going to go away. And instead of focusing on those things, I try to flip the thought and focus on the other stuff. Like, I know I’m in a good spot in life. My family loves me. You’ve just got to flip the thought.”

People would ask me, ‘How are you?’ and I’d be like, ‘I’m fine; I’m good.’ But really I’d be crying in my hotel room all night. You just have to be honest that life sucks sometimes. It’s hard. Things are difficult. I just think the more we are open about it, the more we can help people find solutions.”
